MSC Finds Success in Lafayette and Orange Beach

The weekend of March 19th and 20th once again saw a number of Mandeville Soccer Club teams achieve a high level of success. Seven teams competed in the Orange Beach Shootout in Orange Beach, AL while eighteen teams were competing in the Hub City Ford Lagniappe Tournament in Lafayette.

In The Orange Beach Shootout U-14 Girls Division, MSC Black made it too the finals by winning a pair of games and drawing one. The final was a rematch of the draw against Capital City Streaks and MSC put together a 3-1 win to take the championship. MSC Revolution won all three of their bracket games, in the U-16 Girls White Division, by a combined score of 10-1. They moved on to the final as the top seed and proceeded to take home championship hardware with a hard fought 2-1 win.

In Lafayette, Mandeville Soccer Club had similar success with seven of eighteen teams advancing to the finals and three taking home tournament championships. By the end of bracket play in the U-11 Boys Bronze Division three Mandeville Soccer Club teams had done well enough to make the finals. MSC Strikers, MSC Crush and MSC Blue Devils each won all three games in bracket play. Tie Breakers decided that MSC Strikers would play MSC Crush in the final with MSC Crush wining the final 1-0.

In the U-11 Boys Gold Division, MSC Lakers Black won their three bracket games by a combined score of 10-2 on their way to the final. Unfortunately, MSC Lakers White was shut out of the final on tiebreakers after going unbeaten on the weekend. MSC Lakers Black fell 5-2 in the final.


MSC Lakers Black made it through bracket play, in the U-12 Boys Gold Division, with a pair of wins and a draw. The boys faced CSC Fury Black in the final and took home the championship with a convincing 3-1 win.

The U-14 Boys Division saw MSC Lakers take their bracket through scoring an impressive 12 goals and conceding none. They went on the win the championship game against Chicago Fire Juniors of Louisiana 2-1.

Finally, in the U-11 Girls Gold Division and the U-15 Girls Division MSC Lakers White and MSC Legacy respectively won finalist honors. MSC Lakers White made the final by winning two of three bracket games and lost the final in a close 1-0 match. MSC Legacy also won two of three bracket games and lost the final in a similarly close 2-0 match.
